Reconditioning the idler wheel by mounting it on a short bolt and nut and grabbing the bolt shank in a hand drill and carefully recondition the running surface of the rubber against some very fine sandpaper on a flat plate. Oil the tonearm pivot points with thin synthetic oil, work the arm by swinging in in and out, and then use absorbent paper to remove excess oil.ĥ. Oil the main bearing with thin synthetic oil.Ĥ. Re-grease the linkages with modern synthetic grease that won't gum up.ģ. Removing old hardened grease from all of the linkages underneath with alcohol and swabs.Ģ. The reconditioning work you can count on:ġ. I am using a Shure V15 Series III with a Jico Morita stylus on mine and enjoy it. They are really nice in a bedroom system because at the end of the record the arm lifts up and returns to the arm rest, and the motor turns off. ![]() If you're willing to do some work which will invariably be needed, a Garrard Zero 100 is actually a pretty nice sounding turntable with a moderate to high compliance cartridge.
